Carol Kirkwood is a Scottish weather presenter who works for the BBC.
She was born on 29 May 1962 in Morar, Inverness-shire, as one of eight children. She studied commerce at Napier University in Edinburgh and joined the BBC as a secretary.
She later became a freelance presenter and a weather forecaster trained by the Met Office.
She is best known for presenting the weather on BBC Breakfast and participating in the 13th series of Strictly Come Dancing.
She has won several awards for her work, including the TRIC award for best TV Weather Presenter seven times.
She was married to Jimmy Kirkwood, a property developer, from 1990 to 2008. They did not have any children.
She recently married her new husband, Steve Randall, on 27 December 2023.
She announced her engagement live on BBC Breakfast from the Chelsea Flower Show in May 2022.
She is also an author of a romantic novel, Under a Greek Moon, which was published in 2021.
